Construction on the Discovery Lab’s brand-new 50,000 square-foot location is set for completion very soon in early 2022. 3: Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture (OKPOP) Opening in Tulsa Arts District

OKPOP is dedicated to the creative spirit of Oklahoma’s people and the influence of Oklahoma artists on popular culture around the world. Under the direction of the Oklahoma Historical Society, OKPOP Museum collects, preserves, and shares the state’s pop culture artifacts and collections through four core programs: The OKPOP experience, community outreach, research archives, and education. Visitors expecting a traditional museum experience will be amazed to discover a pop culture playground designed to be explored in ways beyond sight and sound.

4: Bob Dylan Center Opening in May 2022

With a career span of nearly 60 years, Bob Dylan remains one of the most influential figures in popular culture. Tulsa will be home to a new 3-story museum filled with artifacts and memorabilia from the artist’s large archive. What will be known as the Bob Dylan Center is set to open its doors in May 2022 in Downtown Tulsa’s Arts District.

Future plans include implementing an innovative MapWorks Tulsa educational outreach program for TPS students K -12 as well as workshops for members of the Tulsa community.
